Requirements
We are hiring a cook at Orchard Kitchen. This is a hands-on cooking job. There are 4 of us in the kitchen: Chef/Owner Vincent, Hailey, another cook and an intern.
The kitchen is beautiful and full of light. We cook together around a large, open island. We structure our day so that we can have time to meet over coffee in the morning to discuss the day’s work and take a break for dinner with the entire crew – front and back of house – an hour and a half before service.
To say we are farm-to-table misses the point: we are a farm that has a restaurant on it. The farm drives and defines everything we do. We are an omnivore’s restaurant, sourcing meat and fish raised by our neighbors and harvested from nearby waters.
To be a part of Orchard Kitchen is to be a part of our farm family. We work together 4 days a week in the off season and 5 days a week in the summer. We work hard together, and we enjoy one another’s company. The kitchen prepares food, and sometimes we help in the harvesting or with the weeding or with the butchery or the cider making too. We all help out in many ways. We are a crew of only about a dozen at our summer peak, and that’s including the farmers, so each of us wears several hats.
Our next cook is going to be a great team member. They are going to want to learn, and they are going to be able to teach the other cooks as well. They are good at giving instructions, and humble enough to receive instruction too. Collaboration is key in this kitchen. We all do dishes during daily prep. Mopping the floor is not beneath any of us.

Job Description
· Cook: food prep and line service, full-time, permanent position
· Job responsibilities include:
o Food Prep and Dinner Service
o Assure kitchen organization, cleaning, maintenance
o Working as a team, in our open kitchen, to keep the kitchen running smooth and presentable to guests
· 35-55 hours per week, depending on the season
· Full time, permanent position, $20 - $25/hour depending on experience
· Health Insurance provided
